We take mouldings seriously. It’s in our name for a reason. For the last three quarters of a century we have produced billions of board feet worth of mouldings. Yes, that’s billions, with a B.
Placed end to end, that is enough millwork to reach from Earth to the moon – and back – twice. And we’re not done. We are producing more mouldings every single day.
But fun facts aside, we know this is more than a numbers game. The quality of the millwork is more important than the quantity. Since our beginning we have ran countless profiles, across multiple substrates, all made with quality that can only be achieved with decades of experience. With our precision profile matching all that is required is a sample. You send it, we’ll produce it.

MDF Mouldings & Boards
Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) rivals the affordability and versatility of similar engineered wood products, can be moulded into a wide variety of profiles, and is wonderfully easy to work with. Unlike natural wood, MDF has no knots, grain, or warping, and its smooth surface gives way easily to the saw, leaving no splinters, burns, or tear-outs.
Thermally Modified Wood Mouldings
Thermal Modification is a chemical free method of heat-treating wood with nothing more than steam, pressure and high temperatures. The process increases the woods water repellency, insect and rot resistance and dimensional stability.
We originally offered this material in strictly decking and siding, but due to demand for a chemical free product, we have started producing exterior trim and mouldings. The water repellency and dimensional stability of thermally modified wood makes it an excellent choice for exterior mouldings. This is available as factory primed for extra protection or left raw to display the woods natural beauty.
Paneling
Give your project a clean interior look by adding interior paneling to an accent wall, or the entire room. Our paneling can be produced from MDF, finger-jointed pine, and knotty material.
For those who prefer to work with real wood, finger-joint is the way to go. Ideal for both interior and exterior applications, finger-jointed Boards, Mouldings, and Siding are the best way to keep costs low while maintaining a high level of quality. Finger-jointed material can be produced from multiple wood species. Here at Sunset, we mainly produce finger-joint out of Pine and Redwood lumber, and both can come factory pre-primed. We have been in the business of finger-jointing for decades and our quality proves it.
